The Alfa Romeo Canguro is a prototype sports car that was presented at the 1964 Paris Auto Show. It was designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro and built by the Italian coachbuilder Ghia. The car was based on the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale and featured a unique, low-slung body and a glass roof panel.
Under the hood, the Canguro was powered by a mid-mounted, 2.5-liter V8 engine taken from the Alfa Romeo TZ2 race car. It produced 230 horsepower and could propel the car to a top speed of 160 mph.
The Canguro was never put into production, remaining a one-off prototype. It is now considered a highly desirable collectible by Alfa Romeo enthusiasts and automotive enthusiasts alike, due to its rarity, striking design, and impressive performance.
